We
look forward to sharing with you what our clients are saying
about our services. To get this process started, here are
some comments from participants of the summer playgroups
offered by AnaMaria Guevara, LCSW, and Leina
Ramos, LCSW,
at the Center for Developing Minds in Los Gatos.
"Michael has really enjoyed
taking these classes and says he wishes he could stay all
day. I think the suggestions about how to help him be
aware of others and responding to them (expected behavior)
has been the most helpful. That was one of the main concerns my
husband and I have had lately. He has improved a little.
I notice him responding more to others when asked questions,
he looks towards them and talks. He didn't do this a month
ago". (Michael, age 5)
"I think the support he's getting
during the imaginative play portion of the group is most
valuable. Adrian is very creative and imaginative and
enjoys constructing play schemes, but his control issues
limit his ability to include peers. I think his experience
in group has shown him a bit how to include others. He's
definitely been better negotiating play schemes with his
brother since he started group. Also, Adrian has not been
very interested in art/craft projects in the past, but
he seems pleased about what he produces in group".
(Adrian, age 5)
Peer player, “Ana absolutely loved
the group. She could not wait to come each week. Can I
get her on a priority list to come back for the next session?”
